The dove is a symbol of the Holy Spirit which was seen
‘descending as a dove’ at Jesus’ baptism. It is also a symbol of peace and
reconciliation because a dove returned to Noah’s Ark with an olive branch
in its beak to indicate that the flood had receded and that God had
forgiven mankind.
